I made it to Rome...

but sadly my bag didnt! It made me wish I knew a few more swear words in Italian. In the meantime, Im praying to the luggage gods that Alitalia shows up with it before I leave for Tuscany tomorrow. Otherwise, looks like Ill be challenged to come up with 20 varieties of the same black cotton dress and leggings outfit. Good thing my plane outfit was somewhat normal :)

So the day got off to a few bumps, but was made up for in beautiful sights and some gelato to ease the soul. I explored mostly the neighborhood of Trastevere, which is where we lived in the illustrious John Cabot Univ. days and took a stroll down the river to the Vatican and St. Peters. Despite the hoards of tourists, the square is just so unbelievably beautiful and calming... maybe a little too much- I may or may not have dozed off sitting on the steps reading. Oops. Darn you jet lag!

Anyway, off to wrap up the day and enjoy a lonnnng sleep. Pics and updates to come!

  1. Oh no! I hope that your luggage arrived! We are keeping our fingers crossed. Also, we had gelato in your honor tonight, but gelato from a pizza place in Sydney pales in comparison to gelato in Italy, that's for sure... so eat a few extra scoops for us!

  2. Glad you made it, sorry to hear about the bag! I hope it turns up, as much fun as the fashion challenge would be.

  3. Oh no! Sorry to hear about your baggage (or lack therof), poo! I don't know any Italian curse words either so I'll just say "Iguazu!!". Hopefully it has all been resolved now and you are able to exhibit the full extent of your fashionista-self-side!
